TodayWasGood is a small daily ritual for the whole world. One good thing. Every day. From everyone.
Before you close your eyes tonight, pause for a moment. What was one good thing about today? It doesn't have to be big. A warm cup of coffee. A smile from a stranger. Five minutes of quiet. Something made you feel — even just a little — that today was good.
Noticing that thing, and writing it down, is the whole point. Research shows that reflecting on small positive moments before bed helps quiet the mind, ease the day's worries, and lead to more restful sleep. It shifts your attention — even briefly — from what went wrong to what went right.
The 25-word limit is intentional. It asks you to really think. To distil your day into something true and specific. Not a journal entry, not a status update — just one honest, considered moment. The act of finding the words is itself the reflection.
You don't have to be having a great day. You just have to find one good thing in it. On hard days, that's the most important practice of all.
How it works: Create a free account. Share one good thing from your day in 25 words or less. Read what others noticed around the world. Come back tomorrow.
Your data: We store your screen name, hashed password, and email (for recovery only — never shown, never shared). No ads, no tracking, no algorithms. Ever.

TodayWasGood.org is built on a simple idea: one honest good thing, every day. These guidelines exist to protect that.
Your post should be a real moment from your day — something that actually happened, felt, or was noticed. It doesn't have to be big. A warm cup of coffee counts. A quiet five minutes counts. The only rule is that it's true and it's yours.
The limit is intentional. It asks you to distil — to find the one true thing inside the day and say it simply. The constraint is part of the practice.
One good thing. That's the ritual. Not a feed, not a stream — just one moment, chosen with care.
This is not the place to vent, criticise, or contrast with something bad. Even framed positively, complaints don't belong here. If your post is really about something going wrong, it's not the right post.
Don't name real, identifiable people — not public figures, not private individuals. Generic references are fine: "a stranger", "my partner", "a colleague". Naming someone — even positively — is not yours to do without their consent.
No products, brands, services, links, or calls to action. This is not a marketing channel. If your post could appear in an ad, it doesn't belong here.
This is a rare space that belongs to everyone. Keep it that way. Posts that could divide, persuade, or provoke are not good things for this feed.
Every post is read by real people looking for a moment of warmth. Post accordingly.
Every post is reviewed by AI before it appears publicly. Posts that don't meet the guidelines are quietly declined — no penalty, no record. If a post slips through, any logged-in user can report it. A single report hides the post from the public feed immediately and sends it to the moderator queue for review.
Our moderation is warm, not harsh. The goal is to protect the feed, not to reject thoughtful posts on a technicality. If your genuine good thing keeps being declined, you're welcome to contact us — the guidelines are meant to serve the community, not frustrate it.

Account data: When you create an account, we store your chosen screen name, your email address (for account recovery only — it is never displayed publicly), and a hashed version of your password (we never store your password in plain text).
Posts: The text you submit as your daily good thing, along with your chosen category and country, is stored and displayed publicly in the feed. Posts are not linked to your real name or email address.
Settings: Your language preference, default country, and default category are stored locally on your device.
We collect this data to operate the service and, where you have given consent, to improve it. There is no advertising and no behavioural tracking. Where users have opted in, we may share anonymised, aggregated post data (never linked to individual accounts or email addresses) with research partners or license it as an anonymised dataset for wellbeing research and AI improvement purposes. You can withdraw this consent at any time in Settings.
Every post you submit is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for moderation before it appears publicly. This is to ensure the feed remains a warm, positive space. The text of your submission is processed by Anthropic's servers. Anthropic acts as a data processor under GDPR. We have accepted Anthropic's Data Processing Agreement. You can review Anthropic's privacy practices at anthropic.com/privacy.
This site does not use tracking cookies or analytics. We use your browser's local storage to save your session and preferences on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you actively submit a post or change settings. See our Cookie & Storage Notice for full details.
Google Fonts: This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. This involves a request to Google's servers. See Google's privacy policy.
Your account data and posts are kept for as long as your account exists. Posts older than 24 hours are no longer shown in the public feed but remain in your personal summary. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which permanently removes all your data.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data, all of which you can exercise directly inside the app without needing to contact us:
For any right you cannot exercise in-app, or to lodge a complaint, email us at [[email protected]]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
This service is intended for users aged 16 and older. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page. Last updated: [DD.MM.YYYY].

We use your browser's local storage (not cookies) to save the following data on your device:

Translation cache: Translated versions of UI text are cached locally to avoid repeating API calls.
All of this data stays on your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.
Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which involves a network request. Google may log this. To avoid this, you can block Google Fonts in your browser.
